Network of Enterprising Women Announces
2010 Scholarship Recipients

The Network of Enterprising Women (NEW) has awarded its 2010 Scholarships to eight high school graduates in the Greater Richmond area. The 2010 NEW Scholarship recipients are:

Ms. Amanda Vik, Hanover, Attending University of Virginia
Ms. Sienna Stubbs, Henrico, Attending University of NC
Ms. Olivia DeSalvo, Chesterfield, Attending Virginia Tech
Ms. Kathleen LaRiviere, Chesterfield, Attending Randolph Macon
Ms. Chelsea Jackson, Richmond, Attending Salem College
Ms. Shelby Jennette, Powhatan, Attending Longwood
Ms. Stephanie Stoneman, Goochland, Attending Clemson University
Ms. Olivia Palfi, Colonial Heights, Attending Richard Bland College

These outstanding young women, along with their mothers, were recognized at the July NEW luncheon at Willow Oaks County Club. The actual scholarships were presented earlier at the young women's high school awards ceremonies.

Each spring, NEW accepts applications from local female high school seniors for its competitive scholarship program. Awardees selected by the NEW Scholarship Committee each receive a $1,000 scholarship to assist with their freshman-year college expenses. NEW funds the scholarship program through a series of auctions, held at its monthly luncheons, of products and services donated by NEW members.
